New Restaurant in Italy Pavilion

Saturday, June 23rd, 2007

On August 31, 2007 L’Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante (current restaurant in the Italy Pavilion in the World Showcase) will be closing. On September 1, 2007, the restaurant will re-open as Tutto Italia. I personally welcome the change; I was never impressed by Alfredo’s…their red sauce always reminded me of Chef Boyardee!!

New Standardized Kids Menu

Friday, October 27th, 2006

There is a new standardized kids menu that is currently being offered at some Walt Disney World restaurants. Here is the menu:

The following 3 entrees are a part of the new menu at ALL participating restaurants (all are priced at $7.49):

  • Pita Pizza (served in a pita with chicken and mozzarella cheese, comes with a vegetable salad and brown sugar apples)
  • Just Dip It (fruit, veggies, chicken salad, and yogurt)
  • Chicken Strips (the strips are NOT fried; comes with BBQ sauce, sweet potato sticks, carrots, green beans, and a yogurt parfait)

Kid’s Picks (these menu choices vary from restaurant to restaurant, but always include a choice of 1 appetizer, entree, and dessert):

  • Appetizers: Soup *or* salad
  • Entrees: 2 different entrees available, depending on the restaurant
  • Dessert: Fruit salad *or* ice cream

As of now, the restaurants that I’ve read that are participating are Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch only), Tony’s, Mama Melrose, 50’s Prime Time Cafe, Brown Derby, Spoodles, and Boatwright’s. It’s unclear at this point in time if the new kids menu is a permanent thing or if Disney is just testing the waters. I’ll let you know if I hear about any other restaurants participating!
